Rashad Christmas and Englebert Rosario are rolling out R&B Organic Foods, which offers coffee and organic fruit smoothies and, of course, soulful beats.
"We want people to have fun while they're getting their bodies right," said Christmas, 34.
The idea for the truck started earlier this year when Christmas ran into Rosario at the bank. The two got to talking and — after attending a bible study — paired up for the project.
"Englebert had been trying to get his wife to sell her smoothies, because she makes really amazing smoothies," said Christmas, who sells his organic coffee products at the Palisades Mall.
"He saw my hunger for this and decided to do it with me as my mentor."
The business partners purchased the truck in August and brought on Jonathan Yabut as their social media guru.
Yabut helped to land R&B Organics its first event Sept. 4, the day after the truck was complete.
All of the products are named after R&B hits and artists, including "Purple Rain" (blueberry smoothie), "Real Love" (vanilla latte) and "This Is How We Do It" (mango, banana and strawberry smoothie).
Christmas and Rosario have plans to bring a truck to a new, permanent location in Teaneck in the near future.
