bergenPAC Announces New Programming At Garden State Plaza

PARAMUS, N.J. – The Westfield Garden State Plaza mall and Bergen Performing Arts Center have partnered to offer a two-part concert series that will extend throughout the rest of the year, according to a joint statement from the organizations.

Backstage, a family programming series geared toward children ages 2-10, is set to take place at the Westfield Garden State Plaza, 1 Garden State Plaza, on the second Saturday of each month, according to organizers.

The first of the shows, which will consist of four, 30-minute sets, is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 9.

The free shows are open to the public. They are to be held near where the carousel once stood near the Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant, the statement said.

The first show in the series, Bubble Trouble, is to feature performer Jeff Boyer.

According to organizers, Boyer uses comedy, music and interactive bubble magic to take “bubbles to the max in this one-man bubble extravaganza.”

All events in the Backstage series are scheduled to start at 10 a.m. on the second Saturday of the month at the Westfield Garden State Plaza. They include:

  • May, 14 - Gizmo Guys
  • June, 11 - Anthony Salazar: Magic and Illusion
  • July 9 - Twinkle & Friends
  • Aug. 13 - Story Faces
  • Sept. 10 – Petrapuppets: The Wacky Friends Show
  • Oct. 8 – Spooktacular
  • Nov. 12 – My Fairytale Party: Frozen Performance
  • Dec. 10 – Michael Dubois: Solo Circus
