ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — Low-income families can see if they qualify for food stamps.when a local outreach program visits the WIC program on Thursday, Dec. 17 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Englewood.
Assistants will be available to help those people likely to be eligible for food stamp benefits fill out an online application. Support in English and Spanish will be available in this free event, which starts at 9:30 a.m.
The SNAP Outreach team from the Community FoodBank of New Jersey is hosting the event. The Outreach team provides free SNAP eligibility pre-screenings at emergency food pantries, senior centers, soup kitchens, churches, and other community sites serving low-income families in 18 New Jersey counties.
The Community FoodBank of NJ also distributes 43 million pounds of food a year to more than 1,400 programs which feed almost 1 million New Jersey residents.
