This year's contributions will support the Center for Food Action, Oelhaf House, Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living, Vantage Health System, Volunteer Center of Bergen County, Women's Rights Information Center, Leonia Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts, All Saints Child Care Center, Leonia Youth Group, Leonia Public Library, Planned Parenthood, Leonia Chamber Musicians, Community of Friends in Action, Rotary Club of the Palisades Snack pack program, Leonia Arts and Leonia Makes Music.

For 71 years, the Community Chest has dedicated itself to supporting organizations that lend a helping hand to residents in need. The 18 organizations that receive its grants serve the young, hungry, emotionally or physically ill, and the financially needy. It also allocates funds, through its Ilene Fleming Fund, to help in emergencies.

The Community Chest invites organizations to apply for 2016 grants. Decisions on grant requests are based on services provided and how many Leonians are served.

The event starts at 7 p.m. with the presentations beginning at 7:30 p.m. All are invited. There will be refreshments.
