Puerto Rican Band LP21 To Perform At Teaneck's Puffin Cultural Forum

TEANECK, N.J. -- The Grammy-nominated LP21 Band, or "Los Pleneros 21," will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Puffin Cultural Forum in Teaneck.

Their program captures the Puerto Rican spirit of the holidays with a live performance of traditional and contemporary bomba and plena songs interlaced with celebratory "parranda" songs.

Performers are Juan J. Gutiérrez (percussion, vocals), Julia L. Gutiérrez (percussion, dance), Osvaldo “Flaco Navaja” Rivera (lead vocals, percussion), José Rivera (lead vocals, percussion), Nelson Mathew González (percussion), Obanilú Iré Allende (vocals, percussion), Olga Dominguez (piano), Alex Ayala (bass).

The suggested donation for tickets is $10.

Call the forum at (201) 836-8923 for reservations, which will be held until 7:45 p.m. on performance night. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

The forum is at 20 Puffin Way off Teaneck Road.
