Tenafly School District Offers Lecture On Teen Substance Abuse

TENAFLY, N.J. – The Tenafly Speaker Series presents “Nothing to Gain, Everything to Lose: Preventing Teen Substance Abuse,” a panel discussion, Monday, April 4 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the Tenafly High School library.

The panel will discuss the effects of drug use on teen brains, how to talk to kids about drug abuse and how to prevent it.

Speakers include Stephen Stirling, author of “Welcome to Herointown”; Ellen Elias, senior vice president of prevention and community services in Bergen County; Dr. Scott Bienenfeld, American Society of Addiction Medicine; and real stories from family members and those in long-term recovery.

Teens accompanied by a parent are welcome.
