Englewood's Baumgart's Cafe Ranks Among DVlicious Finalists

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- We get it. You like to eat. And you like to eat out. But dining with kids, especially young ones -- can sometimes get sticky -- in more ways than one. Kudos to the places that offer up pleasing menus for both adults and kids as well as surroundings that don’t feel like you’re dining at Mickey D’s.

Baumgart's Cafe, Englewood, Ridgewood, Edgewater

Why It's Kid Worthy: The cheerful décor of its three locations ranges from ‘50s retro to new-age spaceship. It’s a pan-Asian eatery meets hometown diner meets ice cream parlor. Even the fussiest kids will find something to eat here, as the menu packs in everything from sesame chicken and dumplings to sushi and sandwiches to pasta, omelets and burgers. But it’s their homemade ice cream, in flavors like espresso coffee, pistachio and black raspberry, that childhood memories are made of.
