ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- The Stigma Free Task Force invites the public to a tree planting ceremony on Tuesday, May 24 at Veteran's Memorial Park in Englewood.
Englewood has made a commitment to reject stigmatizing stereotypes about mental health and substance use disorders.
The event takes place at 6 p.m., prior to the City Council meeting.
Understanding mental health and substance use disorders isn't only about being able to identify symptoms and having a name for these conditions but dispelling many false ideas about them as well, according to the Stigma Free Task Force.
The tree planting ceremony symbolizes the elimination of the roots of stigma and the growing of awareness and compassion.
