ALPINE, N.J. -- Alpine was recently ranked one of the top 10 activist communities in the tri-state area by Care2, a petition website.
Care2 analyzed data for over 150 million signatures from its 33 million member social network.
Alpine took the eighth spot overall with an activism index of 93.
"We applaud these communities for their outstanding commitment to speaking up for causes they believe in," Care2 CEO Randy Paynter said in a statement. "Civic engagement is the foundation for a healthy democracy. In this election year, it's important to remember that 'We the People' really do have the power, but only when we take action."
Stockholm was the top rated community for activism , according to the rankings.
