ALPINE, N.J. -- Happy Birthday to Alpine’s Eric Maskin!
Maskin, who turns 66 on Monday, was born in New York City, but spent much of his youth in Alpine.
Maskin is an Economist and 2007 Nobel laureate. He is the Adams University Professor at Harvard University.
Prior to Harvard, Maskin was the Albert O. Hirschman Professor of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study, and a visiting lecturer with the rank of professor at Princeton University.
Maskin achieved his Nobel laureate status along with Leonid Hurwicz and Roger Myerson for having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory, which is more commonly known as "reverse game theory."
