EMT David Novick, along with his sister, Liz, discovered their mom on the floor of her bedroom with "an altered mental status" in August 2015, the page says. A CT scan showed a large meningioma tumor.

The day after her diagnosis, she had a shunt placed in her head to drain as much fluid as possible before having the tumor removed.

"With our mom unable to work and our father (a U.S. Army Veteran) working 2 jobs, everyday living expenses have become hard to keep up with," Novick said.

"With thousands upon thousands being spent, this GoFundMe will help pay medical bills and other living expenses."
