ENGLEWOOD, N.J.– Keller Williams Town Life associates will provide food to children who are at risk for hunger as part of its Renew Energize Donate (RED) Day in Englewood next Thursday.
"Many children who receive free school meals are left without adequate nutrition during the weekends and holiday breaks," said realtor sales associate and organizer Jennifer Kirschen-Hamani. "With the funds we raise, we will provide healthy, kid-friendly and easy to prepare foods to children who are at risk of hunger."
Agents will spend the day at three Englewood locations:
- Southeast Senior Center for Independent Living ( SESCIL )
- The Bergen Family Center
- and the Center for Food Action
"We close our office and we focus on giving back to the community," said Kirschen-Hamani, who created a YouCaring page for the event.
The team will prepare 500 snack packs, which will be given to the Center for Food Action and distributed to school children on Fridays, she added.
"RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others," said team leader Ana Enerson. “This year, we are [also] planting, cleaning and painting at the Senior Center and at the Bergen Family Center.”
RED Day started in 2009, and associates have volunteered through activities ranging from food and blood drives to rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need, she added.
The Keller Williams Town Life Market Center in Tenafly is a full-service real estate firm with 143 sales associates.
