Bergen, Passaic Counties Receive Free Seedlings From New Jersey Officials

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is giving back to those who want to give back to Mother Nature.

NJDEP officials will be distributing a variety of free seedlings to dozens of New Jersey municipalities through May 15.

The initiative is part of the NJ Tree Recovery Campaign which aims to restore communities after being destroyed by Superstorm Sandy.

Bergen and Passaic County municipalities include:

  • Bergenfield: Sat., April 23, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Cooper's Pond
  • Bogota: Sat., April 23, 10 a.m. at Olsen Park
  • Clifton: Monday, April 25, 10 a.m. at Jubilee Park, Main Memorial Park
  • Demarest: Friday, May 6, 2 to 6 p.m. and Sat., May 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at United Methodist Church
  • Edgewater: Friday, April 22, 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Edgewater Ferry Landing
  • Garfield: Friday, April 22, 9 a.m. at Garfield High School
  • Glen Rock: Sat., April 23, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Glen Rock Arboretum; and Sun., April 24, 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the recycling center
  • Hackensack: Friday, April 29, 10 a.m. at M&M Building Recreation
  • Hawthorne: Friday, April 29, 1 p.m. at City Hall
  • Leonia: Sun., May 15, 1 to 5 p.m. at Shade Tree Commission Table in Wood Park
  • Mahwah: Sat., April 23, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Town Hall
  • New Milford: Sat., April 30, 9 a.m. at the recycling center
  • Paramus: Sun., April 24, noon to 4 p.m. at Paramus Band Shell Grounds
  • Ridgewood: Sat., May 7, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Memorial Park, Van Neste Square
  • River Edge: Friday, April 29, noon at the River Edge Library
  • South Hackensack: Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the clerk's office
  • Washington Township: Sat., April 23 and Sat., April 30, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at DMF facility
