PARAMUS, N.J. – After one of Target’s signature red balls smashed into her vehicle at a busy Paramus mall, a Pearl River, N.Y. woman is suing the retail chain, NJ.com reports .

In November, a concrete ball used as a safety device outside of the Bergen Town Center on Route 4 became loose when it was struck by a Dodge Ram, and then rolled into the driver side door of Eileen Grady’s Nisan Rogue, authorities said at the time.

Grady filed a claim with Target's insurance company, which was originally denied. But after media reported on the incident, Target offered to pay for the damage, but Grady declined the offer, according to ABC7 .

Grady claims the incident caused her physical injuries and more than $3,300 in damages to her vehicle, the story says. She filed her lawsuit on May 11, in Bergen County Superior Court, seeking over $100,000 in damages, as well as attorneys’ fees and court costs, according to the article.

In the suit, Grady claims Target “knew or should have known” one of the balls would loosen and create a hazard, the story says.
