Christopher Snell, 43, said he pleaded guilty when he was 18 years old to fifth-degree criminal sale of cocaine in New York, and served a six month prison term, the article says.

Snell, who ran for Borough Council in 2014 and 2015, said he was disqualified from coaching following a background check, while "non-African American" volunteers with criminal backgrounds were allowed to continued volunteering, NorthJersey.com reports.
