Englewood Issues Snow Preparedness Bulletin

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Englewood officials are asking for cooperation from residents to facilitate clearing snow from the anticipated storm.

Englewood city officials are urging residents to park their cars off the street to allow snow removal vehicles to do a thorough job. Free parking is also being provided in designated lots.

A bulletin released late Thursday afternoon predicts 6 to 10 inches of snow with wind, and strong gusts, from early Saturday until Sunday morning.

City Manager Tim Dacey asks residents to park in their driveways if possible. This will make it much easier to do thorough snow removal.

Dacey said snow parking restrictions will be enforced. 

There is no parking while streets are covered with snow on the following roadways: 

  • Grand Avenue
  • Engle Street
  • Dean Street
  • Palisade Avenue
  • Dana Place
  • Broad Avenue
  • Van Brunt Street
  • West and East Englewood Avenue
  • Lafayette Place
  • Lafayette Avenue
  • West Forest Avenue
  • East Linden Avenue
  • Jones Road
  • Lydecker Street
  • Booth Avenue
  • West Hudson Avenue
  • Tenafly Road
  • Knickerbocker Road
  • Liberty Road
  • Van Nostrand Avenue
  • William Street
  • North and South Woodland

If there is a large accumulation of snow, free parking will be provided in the downtown parking garage in spots #102 through #186 on the ground level and next ramp up (before New York Sports Club) 

There will also be free parking at the following municipal lots from Friday at 6 p.m. until Monday at 7 a.m.:

  • South Dean Street (Lot A)
  • Depot Square Plaza/ Veterans Park (Lot B)
  • North Dean Street (Lot C) - located across from IHOP
  • Bergen Street (Lot E)
  • Charles Street (Lot H)
  • Englewood Public Library
  • Towne Centre Parking Area (Lot N)
  • Liberty School Parking Lot

If you are parking in the downtown garage, be aware that parking past the designated area is reserved for garage permit holders. Parking in other spaces may result in parking tickets or towing.

The Fire Department also reminds anyone near a fire hydrant to dig it out to insure access in case of emergency, for your own safety.
