Juice Bar, Drug Busts Top Bergen County News Last Week

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J. — Drug busts, burglars and a professional errand-runner — here's a look at the stories that topped Bergen County news last week.

JUICE BAR: Ever since Jessica Piatt opened Beets Juice Bar last month, Park Ridge High School students have a healthy place to hang out at lunchtime and 3:15 p.m.

DRUG BUST: A local judge released a Hackensack man without bail after Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives and city police said they seized seven pounds of methamphetamine, nearly a half-pound of cocaine and nine ounces of marijuana – worth a combined $450,000 on the street -- during a raid on his apartment and storage facilities.

CYBER THREATS: An eighth-grader from Saddle Brook was joking when he posted a comment on a YouTube video that prompted a K-9 search and additional police presence at a local grade school, said authorities who tracked him down.
