Beverly J. Mitchell, 79, Of Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Beverly J. Mitchell, a resident of Englewood, died Friday, May 6. She was 79.

Born in Detroit, she was the daughter of Harry D. McCaleb and Genevieve McCaleb. She was a Bergen County resident for over 40 years.

She was involved in several different businesses, however, the career she loved most was real estate because of the joy she found in helping people attain the American dream of homeownership. 

She was a member or served on the board of the Englewood Historical Society, the Woman’s Club of Englewood, Englewood Little League, Englewood Planning Board, the Community Chest, the Englewood Council of Arts, the Englewood Board of Adjustments and the Recreation Department.

She is survived by her son, Louis Joseph Mitchell III and his wife Latice Mitchell; her siblings, Harry McCaleb, Janice Johnson, Gregory McCaleb and Jeffrey McCaleb; his grandchildren, Courtny, Elgin, Chelsea, Tamia, Jo Jo and Josie; his great-granddaughter, Alani; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Joseph Mitchell Jr.; and her sister Sharlene McCaleb.
