Paul C. Haines, 77, Of Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Paul C. Haines, of Englewood, died on Saturday, Dec. 10. He was 77.

He was born March 24, 1939 at Gotham Hospital in New York City to Arland and Sophie (Applebome) Haines. After graduating from Tenafly High School, he attended Colgate University where he earned a degree in psychology. He then went on to serve his country as a pilot, lieutenant JG, in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1962. 

Haines started his retail and merchandising career as a buyer with JC Penney, moving onto S&H Green Stamps and then onto Consumers Distributing as VP of Regional Operations and ending his long career as owner of Dynasty Fashion Jewelry, an importing and wholesaling business. 

After retiring in 2001, he used his love and knowledge of hunting and fishing by working part time at Ramsey Outdoor Store. In addition to spending time with his family, he loved fine dining; he enjoyed years of extensive travel and he enjoyed lounging, especially after a day of hunting, with his many Labrador Retrievers.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Alexander) Haines; her sons, Marcus and Brandon; and her grandson Lorenzo; daughters, Joyce Haines Hecklau, her husband Jeff; and grandson, Ryan Luksza, Karyn Haines Norberg, her husband Mark and granddaughters, Nicole and Samantha, Lysa Haines and granddaughters, Vanessa and Sophia and their father, Nestor Molina; the mother of his children, Hedda Goldstein Haines; and his sister, Mari Ann (Haines) Gauff and her husband Richard.

There will be a memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. to be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 480 Warwick Avenue, Teaneck.
