ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Ruth Naomi Forrest, of Englewood, died June 24, 2016. She was 77.
She was born Sept. 23, 1938 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, the West Indies. She was the sixth child of Theodore and Mary Forrest.
Before her 19th birthday, she married Leroy B. Lindsay in 1957. They were blessed with eight children (Anthony Sr. – deceased, Annette, Andre, Andrea, Andrew Sr., Carlos, Carolyn and Carey).
Forrest started her career working as an administrative assistant in various office settings, including Whitewell, Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Chase Manhattan Bank. She loved the Lord, enjoyed her life and, most importantly, she loved her family.
The Lord blessed Leroy and Ruth’s 44 years of marriage until Leroy died in 2002.
Forrest was a great woman of faith, selfless love, trust, compassion and a warm spirit.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Josephine, Kim, David Sr., Gayle, Aaron, Yvette and Julia; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and tree siblings, Mavis, George and and Edith.
