ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Walter Whitney Furr, 86, of Englewood, recently died.
The son of the late Oliver and Clara Furr, he served with the Englewood Fire Department for more than 30 years.
In addition, he belonged to Jephthah Lodge #89 Prince Hall Masons in New York City, where he served as a past master and sat on the board of trustees. He was a lifetime member of The American Legion through Post 58 in Englewood-, wher he had the position of chaplain, as well as Bergen County chaplain.
Farr is survived by his family and many caring friends.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter Furr, be sent to the New Jersey Firemen’s Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton NJ 07005.
