3 sought in Englewood mugging, victim in ICU

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Englewood police are looking for three assailants who severely beat a 35-year-old Brooklyn man with a baseball bat, taking his cellphone and new Lebron James sneakers — and leaving him with head injuries and a collapsed lung.

“This appears to have been a targeted attack,” Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .

“The victim is extremely lucky to be alive,” Torell said. “He took a pretty bad beating.”

Patrons of bar jumped the man around 3:30 this morning on Tallman Place between James and West Streets. One of the his him with a baseball bat, Torell said.

The victim remained in intensive care this afternoon.
