ANOTHER CVP SCOOP: A store surveillance camera and a keen-eyed 7-Eleven clerk who took down a partial license plate number led Englewood police to a Teaneck man they charged with trying to attack the clerk with a knife.
Gregory Stewart, 36, posted $25,000 bond and was released after being charged with aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession following his arrest this afternoon.
His case will be referred to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office for grand jury action, Detective Capt. Tim Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT tonight.
A review of the surveillance video shows that the incident between Stewart and the clerk was “an argument that Stewart took to another level.
“The clerk narrowly escaped serious injury after Stewart pulled a knife from his pocket, leaned across the counter and tried to slash him,” Torell said.
