DO YOU KNOW THIS MAN? Englewood Cliffs police this afternoon released a clearer surveillance image of a robber wearing a baseball cap with the upcoming Super Bowl logo on it made off with $5,000 from the PNC Bank branch on Sylvan Avenue after passing a note Wednesday afternoon.
“This is a robbery, give me all you have, no dyes no money packs,” said the note handed to the teller, Police Capt. Daniel Morrissey said.
Witnesses descried the robber, who didn’t show a weapon, as Hispanic, about 6 feet tall, 185 to 200 pounds, with dark eyes and a medium complexion, and believed to be in his 30s.
He was carrying a black zipper bag with a skull on it, Morrissey said, and was wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, a purple scarf and the football cap — part of the merchandise for the Feb. 2 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.
He walked south on Sylvan Avenue (Route 9W) before witnesses lost track of him following the 1:35 p.m. holdup, the captain said.
Surrounding towns were notified and a perimeter set up. A K9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office tracked for a stretch before losing the scent in the area of Bayview Avenue and Hudson Terrace. The sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification processed the bank scene.
