Gas Station Attendant From Fair Lawn Shot Dead, Police Seek Public's Help

UPDATE: PATERSON, N.J. -- Authorities Tuesday sought the public's help finding the gunman responsible for the cold-blooded killing of a Paterson gas station attendant from Fair Lawn the night before.

Ruskin Magamedov, 57, was pronounced dead after being brought in to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center following the 6 p.m. shooting at 1st Ave Gas on Route 20.

City and Hawthorne police who responded rendered aid, Police Director Jerry Speziale told Daily Voice.

Speziale and Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes asked that anyone with information that could help catch the killer contact either:

ORIGINAL STORY: PATERSON, N.J. -- A manhunt was on for a gunman who shot and killed a Route 20 gas station attendant in Paterson Monday night.

City and Hawthorne police who responded rendered aid to the victim after finding him on the ground at the station at First Avenue around 6 p.m., Police Director Jerry Speziale told Daily Voice.

He was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, Speziale said.

Police were withholding identification until next of kin could be notifed.

Speziale's detectives were investigating along with their colleagues from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
