ALPINE, N.J. -- Authorities said they don't believe the death of a Harrington Park Boy Scout leader whose body was found on a hiking trail along the Palisades in Alpine was suspicious.
An autopsy was scheduled for Hugh Degnen, 54, whose body was found on the Long Path just before 12:30 p.m. Oct. 11, Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Chief Michael Coppola said.
The Bergen County Sheriff's Office Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence. The county Medical Examiner's Office responded, as well, the chief said.
An investigation was continuing, he said.
