The driver was backing out of a parking spot, with her husband as a passenger, when her car hit another on Palisade Avenue near Engle Street around 3:15, Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

She then put it in drive and the car jumped the curb and hit several tables in front of the Blue Moon Mexican Cafe, he said.

One table struck a 43-year-old woman from Englewood who was having lunch, Torell said.

She was taken to Englewood Hospital and Medical Center for evaluation and appeared “more shaken up than anything,” he said.

The driver also was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

The Englewood Police Traffic Division impounded the vehicle for a safety inspection, Torell said, adding that summonses were possible.
