ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. -- A Palisades Interstate Parkway police officer who noticed an agitated Rockland County woman talking to herself in a car parked at an Englewood Cliffs lookout found her carrying 120 Ecstasy pills for sale, authorities said.
Officer Michael Holland spotted Elena Iltcheva, a 34-year-old Greek immigrant from Haverstraw, "sitting alone in a Honda Civic talking to herself and acting irrationally" as he patrolled the Rockefeller Lookout around 9 a.m., Monday, Police Chief Michael Coppola said Tuesday.
When he approached, she "began to hide items in the car and became extremely nervous," Coppola said.
Noticing that Iltcheva was under the influence, the officer searched the car and found the Ecstasy, along with three Oxycodone pills, the chief said.
She then "admitted to transporting the narcotics to Rockland County for sale," he said.
Iltcheva was being held on $110,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail on a variety of drug charges.
