The woman wasn't in the crosswalk when she was struck by a southbound Toyota Camry driven by a 62-year-old woman outside the BMW of Tenafly dealership around 5:30 p.m., Capt. John Trainor said.

Police, paramedics and the Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded.

The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, Trainor said.

"We are still investigating," he said Wednesday morning.
