Englewood police got a tip that 51-year-old Alfredo Rosales was having sex with the older girl Friday night, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said Monday.

Grewal's Special Victims Unit and city police found Rosales with the girl, then learned of his involvement with the younger one, as well, the prosecutor said.

Since 2010, Esperanza Mani-Cortez, 44, had been making the girls available to Rosales "so that he could sexually assault them," Grewal said.

Mani-Cortez "received financial compensation from Rosales in exchange," he said.

Both were arrested Saturday and charged with three counts each of aggravated sexual assault, two counts each of sexual assault, one of aggravated sexual contact and two child endangerment offenses.

Rosales remained held Monday on $500,000 bail and Mani-Cortez on $300,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail.

First appearances were scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

The girls, meanwhile, were safe, authorities said.
