Threat prompts sweep of Secaucus train station

ONLY ON CVP: Train service continued without interruption after State Police swept the Frank R. Lautenberg Secaucus Junction Station during Friday’s rush hour after receiving a threat.

“The anonymous, unspecific threat seems be unfounded, but police are still investigating,” NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel told CLIFFVIEW PILOT at 7 p.m. “There’s been no impact to service.”

The $450 million rail hub, which isn’t an actual junction, has been open nearly seven years. It knocks a minimum of 15 minutes off the trip of travelers who used to have to switch in Hoboken on their way to Penn Station in midtown Manhattan.
