Detectives began watching both men after getting a tip that a kilo was being delivered last night, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said this afternoon.
Detectives from his office, along with those from the NYPD’s Bronx Gang Squad and Englewood police then moved in, stopping the pair’s car in Englewood and arresting Jose Gonzalez, 53, of Providence, R.I., and 36-year-old Jose E. Quinones of Garnerville, N.Y.
In the car they found the first kilo, Molinelli said.
The other two kis, along with $6,000 in cash, were seized during a search of Quinones’ apartment, the prosecutor said.
Both men were being held on $250,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail, pending court hearings on drug possession and distribution charges.
