TENAFLY, N.J. -- A bomb threat cleared Tenafly High School mid-morning Monday.

A school official informed a resource officer of the threat at 9:46 a.m., and the emergency action plan was activated, Police Capt. Michael deMoncada said.

"Additional police officers responded to the school with members of the Tenafly Volunteer Fire Department and Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps," deMoncada said.

"Tenafly police officers conducted a thorough search of the school with the assistance of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bomb Unit," the captain said. "The building was deemed safe to resume normal operations following the search.

"Department detectives in conjunction with the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office are actively investigating."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Tenafly police: (201) 568-5100 .
