Volunteer carpenters creating Englewood Cliffs community center

SHOUT OUT: Members of Carpenters Local 253 volunteered this Saturday to begin renovating the former Englewood Cliffs Ambulance Corp building, which the borough plans to turn into a community center.

Northeast Council of Carpenters senior representatives Peter Gowing and George Schreck arranged for the carpenters to gut the interior of the building.

Then, in the coming weeks, the Carpenters Apprentice Training Center from Kenilworth will install new framing, drywall, ceilings and flooring — at no cost to the borough.
