Responders used a leg tourniquet on Philip Dimitrijevic, 23, to control the bleeding after the 9:14 p.m. crash at the intersection of Ringwood Avenue and Conklintown Road last Thursday, Capt. Kenneth Fackina said.

He was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment, the captain said.

"The last information received was that he was in stable condition," Fackin added.

From witness accounts, it that 23-year-Nicholas Malanga of Riverdale slowed his truck while heading north on Ringwood Avenue to turn right onto Conklintown Road, the captain said.

A 17-year-old Jeep driver heading south on Ringwood Avenue began to make a left onto Conklintown when Dimitrijevic passed Malanga truck on the left, he said.

The cycle hit the right front of the Jeep and crashed, Fackina said.

Dimitrijevic was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance, he said.
