Back To School Struggles: Parents Take Northern Valley Admins To Court

DEMAREST, N.J. — Parents have filed a lawsuit against the Northern Valley Regional School District, saying that the college-prep courses are not being properly weighted into GPAs, NorthJersey.com reports.

The July 28 suit accuses the district of discrimination against students with special needs by creating enriched classes but without extra weight in calculating their GPAs, the article says.

The concern amongst some parents is that the inaccuracy makes it more difficult for students to get accepted into college, according to NorthJersey.com.
