ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. -- Former Mets Manager Bobby Valentine was among the participants in Opening Day ceremonies Saturday for the Englewood Cliffs Little League.
Valentine, a former major leaguer from Stamford, CT who led the Mets to the World Series in 2000, spoke to the players, coaches and parents.
"Today was a great day for our Little League and our Englewood Cliffs Little League community," League President Rafi Jafri said. "We have one of the best baseball programs in the area, and we cannot thank our players, coaches and parents who are the fabric of our baseball community."
