Fort Lee's Verismo Opera Holds Open Casting Call For Spring Season

FORT LEE, N.J. -- The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera, located in Fort Lee, is holding open casting calls for supernumerary roles.

Supernumeraries, also known as supers, are non-singing, non-speaking parts similar to extras in television and movies. Males, age 16 and older, are especially needed and invited to sign up now for roles as guards, seamen, and gentlemen of the Venetian Court in Verismo Opera's debut of Amilcare Ponchielli's La Gioconda. No experience necessary.

La Gioconda will premier on Sunday, April 17 at 3 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood.
