Alix Prosper, 88, Longtime Englewood Resident

ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Alix Prosper, of Englewood, died on Monday, Feb. 27. He was 88.

Born in Jacmel, Haiti, Prosper immigrated to the United States in 1969, settling in Englewood. He was a physician at Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx before he retired, and he was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's Church in Englewood. 

He is survived by his children, Patrick, Dominique, Sandra, Francoise and Jacqueline Colette; 10 siblings, eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Prosper was preceded by his wife of 56 years, Jacqueline.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, at the Aloia Funeral Home, 180 Harrison Ave., in Garfield. The funeral mass will be held at St. Cecilia's at noon, followed by a private cremation.
