TENAFLY, N.J. -- Frank Bruni, author of the New York Times best-seller “Where You Go Is Not Who You'll Be: An Antidote to the College Admissions Mania” will speak Thursday, March 31 at Tenafly High School.
In his discussion, Bruni will give students and their parents a new outlook on the deeply flawed competition of college admissions and provide a path out of the anxiety that it provokes.
Through statistics, surveys and the stories of hugely successful people who didn’t attend the most exclusive schools, Bruni will demonstrate that many kinds of colleges — large public universities and tiny hideaways in the hinterlands — can serve as ideal springboards to a successful future.
He also will illuminate how to make the most of one’s college years and suggests that what matters in the end are a student’s efforts in and out of the classroom, not the gleam of his or her diploma.
The discussion will begin at 7 p.m.
Tenafly High School is at 19 Columbus Drive, Tenafly.
